Firm History
Shieff Angland began as Finlay Shieff in 1942 from offices just off Queen Street, Auckland.
The “Finlay” was Dr Martyn Finlay QC, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of New Zealand. Martyn was a highly respected lawyer and politician. The “Shieff” was Norman Shieff an admired and respected member of the legal profession. Norman was instrumental in creating our culture of excellence which continues to define Shieff Angland today.
Jack Angland joined the firm in 1959, remaining a partner until his death in 1990. In that time Jack established an enviable reputation for personal and professional integrity with a wide range of clients.
Today, Shieff Angland specialises in property, commercial and litigation.
